An off-peak energy scheme launching next month will pay people up to £300 over the winter to run appliances and charge electric cars overnight ⬇️
Other energy suppliers have indicated they will join at a later date. They will receive £3 per hour from the National Grid for appliances and £21 for electric cars.
A spokesperson said: “We are working on how this scheme can work best for our customers and fit in with their habits around the home. We will be running a trial first to learn from before using our scale to roll out to our wider customer base.”However, the supplier has launched its own energy saving trial called “Power Move”, separately from the National Grid.
National Grid will write to suppliers to tell them when the off peak hours are, and suppliers will then let customers know 24 hours before.
