Burnley house fire shuts street for hours as emergency services rush to blaze
Three fire engines from Burnley and Nelson, along with the aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn, attended the incident on Colne Road in Burnley. The 999 was sent to Lancashire Fire at Rescue Service at 7.12pm last night .
Lancashire Constabulary said the road was closed from Hebrew Road to the entrance Thursby Gardens. Officers said they expected the closure to be in place 'for some time'.Firefighters used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan, and a gas monitor to bring the fire under control. They were in attendance for just over two hours.
In a statement on the Burnley and Padiham Police Facebook page last night, a spokesperson said: "We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on Colne Road, from Hebrew Road to the entrance Thursby Gardens in Burnley. The road is closed due to a building fire and we anticipate this will be closed for some time."
A LFRS spokesperson said: "Three fire engines from Burnley and Nelson, along with the aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn, attended a house fire on Colne Road, Burnley. Firefighters used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan, and a gas monitor to bring the fire under control.No injuries have been reported and the road has now reopened.
