'It is considered that Mincing Lane in general does not have any specific concentration of hot food takeaways'

Atif Mehmood has been given permission to turn the the vacant premises at 33 Mincing Lane in Blackburn’s Darwen Street Conservation area. The new takeaway will have an extraction flue at the back.

A report recommending approval by planning officer Emily Colebourne said: “The proposal site relates to a mid-terraced, two-storey building within Blackburn town centre. “Although a significant number of hot food takeaways exist within the town centre, the block within which the application site sits currently hosts one – Taste of India. Moreover, it is considered that Mincing Lane in general does not have any specific concentration of hot food takeaways.
