Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team said the 22-year-old 'came off' the horse while riding with a group
Members of the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were called to hilltops near Crawshawbooth on Wednesday afternoon and were joined at the scene by Northwest Air Ambulance. The incident involved a 22-year-old who had fallen off the horse while riding with a group and suffered a suspected leg injury.
Two vehicles from RPMRT attended the scene at around 1pm and arrived just after the air ambulance had landed. Volunteers assisted paramedics in 'stabilising the casualty' before helping them into the helicopter and then onwards to hospital.
"Members responded on blue lights with Mobiles 1 and 2. We arrived just after helimed and then assisted paramedic stabilise the casualty before helping to get them safely carried to the helicopter and off the hospital for further treatment. "Thanks to Northwest Air Ambulance as usual for great joint working and we hope the casualty makes of good recovery."
