A 'horror' crash has closed one of Scotland's major roads off for 18 miles with reports of an overturned lorry on the A75.

The incident happened around 8am on Thursday morning. It is unknown if any other vehicles have been involved. The A75 is closed in both directions between Dumfries and Castle Douglas. Police expect the road will be closed for a lengthy amount of time.
