An immigration officer and former Metropolitan Police officer has reportedly been suspended following a BBC investigation which alleged he had been posting racist content on WhatsApp.
Messages from the group were shown to the programme by Dave Eden, another former police officer, the show said.It said: “We expect the highest standards of our staff and have a zero tolerance approach to anyone displaying racist, homophobic, misogynist or discriminatory behaviour.Commander Jon Savell, who is responsible for the Metropolitan Police’s professional standards, said the messages shared were “abhorrent”.
