The world of banking is undergoing a seismic shift, as the convenience of online services lures customers away from traditional high street branches. What was once a familiar sight on every bustling street corner is now becoming a rare sight. In a new wave of closures, 44 more branches are set to shut their doors, adding to the staggering 5,695 closures since January 2015, according toLloyds is closing at least 83 banks in total, while NatWest has 140 scheduled to shut their doors forever this year and into 2024.
