The hidden Blackpool butty shop that isn't even on Google serving monster sandwiches that are well worth the effort
It was 2pm and I'd been at the launch of the 2023 Blackpool Illuminations on one of the hottest days of the year so far. I can tell you my face was as illuminous as some of those lights and my tummy was making waves like artist Dr Chila Kumari Singh Burman's kaleidoscopic designs.
In the end, I found the address on the deli's Facebook page. Bingo, only a five-minute drive away, I would be sinking me teeth into a proper good butty soon.Nope, foiled again as I drove past it about three times and had to turn around before I pin-pointed it, sandwiched between two other shops, one also with a white front signage. The white theme continues inside, where there's plenty of floor space and a large counter but nowhere to perch or sit and eat your sandwich.
I'd seen several Instagram posts recommending Eat This, showing off stuffed-full, salivating-inducing sarnies. But the chicken club cropped up the most and is right up my street, so I tapped for £6 sandwich and waited. Generally, a resounding yes. The chicken was herbalisious, slightly browned and tender, the bacon juicy and just the right level of crisp and the salad fresh, crisp and bold colours.
