Heroic staff rushed to help an injured man when he stumbled into a pub after being stabbed on a nearby canal path.
Merseyside Police confirmed the victim was attacked near to Bankside Court and sustained multiple stab and slash wounds to his head, neck, chest, hand and leg. He remains in hospital where he remains in a stable but serious condition. Mr Blanchard added: "We have been told by police we can't open today because we are waiting for police forensics to come into the pub.
