A shocking story
A happy-go-lucky schoolgirl who morphed into a tragic self-harming young woman after a succession of men let her down took her own life an inquest heard today .
"She met a man aged 24 when she was 15. I told her to end things and she kept threatening to kill herself. She moved in with him on and off. He physically, emotionally and sexually abused her." Mrs Feeley said when the police became involved he pleaded guilty. But he kept putting it off and she was left with just a mattress and a TV after selling all her furniture after believing her boyfriend's plans were for real. On the day before her death, Mrs Feeley said: "She rang me crying on the phone. She thought he was cheating on her. She started to calm down.
She said: "I heard her screaming. We all stood in shock. We didn't believe what we had heard. We saw the police officers outside. I felt myself going numb and fell to the ground sobbing." "On Saturday I saw a message she had put on Snapchat. I messaged her at 12.42pm asking if she was OK. I rang her but nothing. I drove to her house."
