Sergio Perez wins SingaporeGP in style but most of the drama came further down the field
A balmy and barmy Singapore Grand Prix saw rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton both spin before Red Bull star Sergio Perez secured a superb victory.
The Mexican does face a wait to confirm the win after an incident with the safety car during the race, however.Charles LeclercPerez’s Dutch teammate – with his first shot at claiming his title win – had a wild race, starting in eighth after an under-fuelling issue in qualifying. But a slow start dropped him into 13th.
He would climb through the pack and almost battle his way into the top four before racing incidents saw him spin and troubled by rivals.In his bid to climb the standings, Verstappen toed the line and in coming out of a virtual safety car halfway through the race was rebuked for his conduct. Attempting to whizz past Lando Norris in the McLaren just before the period ended, he flew up the outside of the Brit but pulled out of the manoeuvre, leaving his rival fuming.Verstappen could have won the title in Singapore but failed in his attempt
