Rosemary oil has skyrocketed in popularity as the ultimate hair growth solution, but one expert claims it "does nothing" to lengthen locks.
Sharing a clip on the @curlidandme TikTok page, she began by rejecting the common belief that rosemary oil is a “miracle, wonder oil” that causes hair to grow inches "in a short space of time". While she did say that the oil has good properties, it only works if it is mixed with another carrier oil. “So to be able to improve growth it needs to reach the target tissue, which is the dermal papillae, which lives at the base of the follicle.”
Ultimately, oil mixed with sebum produced by our bodies can lubricate the scalp and feed the yeast which lives there. This, Samantha warned, can lead to scalp irritation.
