Ice fishers among people brought back to shoreline of Lake Michigan by airboats after split possibly caused by barge
Ice on Lake Michigan, seen in February 2021.Authorities rescued 27 people from a floating chunk of ice that broke away from shore in the bay of Green Bay in easternNo injuries were reported in the incident that happened on Saturday morning north of Green Bay, in part of Lake Michigan, the Brown county sheriff’s office reported.The chunk of ice floated about three-quarters of a mile and was about a mile from the shore by the time everyone was brought to solid ground.
