From Lincolnshire Head Boy to government minister 📚 🎓
Government Minister Nigel Huddleston recently took a pause from his official duties to visit his old school, Sir Robert Pattinson Academy, in Lincoln.Mr Huddleston, Minister for International Trade, embarked on a tour of the institution, where he had been a student in the 1980s.During his time at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy, Mr. Huddleston served as the Head Boy from 1988 to 1989 before pursuing further studies in politics and economics at Oxford University.
On the nostalgic visit, the Minister unveiled a new Jubilee plaque, specially designed by students to honour the school's seven decades of educational. The institution, established in 1953 within the grounds of Hykeham Hall, derives its name from Sir Robert, who had served as the chairman of Kesteven County Council for two decades.“It was fantastic for the students to see that an education at this school can be a pathway to an important role in our country and offer opportunities to make a really positive difference to society.
“Nigel was fantastic with the students and very generous with his time. It is an honour to lead the school at a time of such a milestone in its history and a real pleasure to meet people who are living testament to the fantastic grounding this exceptional school has, and still, offers its pupils.” The school has organised various activities, including a treasure hunt, talent show, bake-off competition, and a grand afternoon tea, as part of the milestone celebration.
