The former Bournemouth and Newcastle midfielder – who found himself unused for large parts of last season – was particularly critical of Ranieri’s persistence with five-a-side training matches. “There’s a time and place for five-a-sides obviously, but it’s usually a few fun games at the end of a session. Doing whole sessions of five-a-side every doesn’t win you games. Look at the results on the pitch.”
Gosling was also unhappy with the “disgraceful” atmosphere within the dressing room and even named Ozan Tufan as a particularly bad example.
