Community growing programmes, adventure sport initiatives, art projects and support groups for men, children and older people are just some of the projects that have secured cash from the Tannahill Centre’s Good Ideas Fund.
The Ferguslie-based organisation has this week handed over money to 13 groups as part of its participatory budgeting.
Powered by the Paisley Daily Express, Renfrewshire Live is your go-to source for news, features and sport with live coverage provided direct to the app, seven days a week. Gordon Larkin, who helps manage the fund at the Tannahill Centre said the most recent round of the Good Ideas Fund had been a huge success.
“Rather than people sitting in a remote office trying to come up with ideas, it’s the community members themselves who are coming up with the ideas and it’s the wider community voting for these ideas that make them a reality.” Ferguslie Park Women’s Group also secured funding to host a fundraising comedy night which will help raise cash for a team-building away day next year.
