The 11 West Lothian sides were involved in games that saw a remarkable 63 goals scored on a busy weekend

It was goals galore at the weekend as 11 clubs were involved in cup ties that saw a remarkable 63 goals.

Fresh off a hat-trick last weekend, Kevin Kalala bagged the game’s only goal to send Royal into the second round. Dean McConnell netted a late winner for United, who had gone in front twice only to be pegged back by the visitors. Craig Johnston opened the scoring with a third minute penalty before jason Gregor restored the lead just before the break only for that to be coughed up again on the hour mark.

Stoneyburn found the net four times at home to Edinburgh United - but that wasn’t enough to avoid defeat as they went down 5-4. Scott Mackie, Euan Watson and Liam Kane netted for the Fulshie as the sides were tied 3-3 at the break with Jack Duncan scoring late in the second-half only for United to answer back and bag themselves the winner.

Broxburn Athletic and Whitburn both scored four at home - but with differing outcomes as the Brox defeated Peebles Rovers 4-1 while it was defeat for Darren Wilson’s men at home to Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts, going down 6-4. A Gregor Lamb own goal put Athletic in front before Calum Bremner doubled the lead before the break.
