A huge new adventure park has been given the green light
and will become an 'absolutely excellent' addition to Witton Country Park.
Adventure Forest Ltd have proposed the scheme, similar to one at Rivington, for a 1.6 acre site near The Pavilion in the Blackburn park. It was approved unanimously after Darwen East Liberal Democrat Cllr Paul Browne was given a guarantee that no trees would be chopped down or harmed by the project. Dan Stafford from the applicants told the councillors at their meeting on Thursday night: “It will provide jobs and deliver the opportunity for adventure. It will help the revitalisation of a great public open space.”
Conservative spokesman Cllr Paul Marrow gave the new adventure park his group’s full support. Mr Stafford said the majority of sessions would be pre-booked but there would be the opportunity for ‘walk ins’ at quiet period.
