Man, 63, sets sail on solo round-the-world race
Dafydd Hughes left Aberystwyth Marina to take on the challengeA sailor has set off on his attempt to become only the second Welshman to sail on his own around the world without stopping.
The event starts in A Coruña, in Spain, and sailors must travel east, passing between Antarctica and the capes of South Africa, Australia and South America."It's just a challenge I fell in love with two-and-a-half years ago," he told"When you commit, you are sucked in by the challenge. Two-and-a-half years later, I'm a bit anxious but excited."
