The landlord of Locos in Bridgeton has argued that the 'small outbuilding' in the backcourt of the tenement block is essential to the running of the family business.
A family-run takeaway in the east end is fighting back against Glasgow City Council's decision to order them to remove an outbuilding.
However, planning enforcement officers ruled that the extension to the rear of the shop premises within the tenement block was 'unauthorised' and must be removed. They said that the extension reduces the usable area of the backcourt and is formed of 'inappropriate materials'. In an appeal, he explained: "The situation reached a critical point when used needles were discovered outside their rear exit, posing a significant risk to the health and safety of the staff and family running Locos takeaway.
