Angela McKillop lost everything.
A Glasgow mum built up a £5million business empire after growing up on a council estate - then lost it all.
Now 42, Angela explained that the business thrived after a successful home renovation project, until they lost a key client and their business collapsed, leaving them with crippling debts. "We realised there was a gap in the market for reliable tradespeople so we started a home improvements business in 2006. The same year we got married."
At their peak, they employed 29 people with a massive £5.1 million turnover. But then, in 2016, it all came abruptly crashing down. "We were losing money but still had to pay staff and bills. We had to put a lot of personal money in to try and keep afloat but eventually we couldn't sustain it and shut everything down.
"I questioned if I was good enough, if success happened to people like me. I was so disappointed and we had zero confidence.
