Police say the thug is between 20 and 30 and spoke with an English accent.
The 59-year-old was walking on Gairbraid Avenue, near to Glasgow Club Gym when demanded her handbag then removed it by force before running off towards Maryhill Road.
Constable Natalie Davner from Govan Police Station said: “This has been a terrifying experience for the victim and thankfully no one was seriously hurt in the incident.
