Glasgow jazz singer Cara Rose recognised at national awards ceremony

'It's lovely to be recognised for something that I put my heart into.'

Cara Rose, a 25-year-old singer and songwriter based in Glasgow, was presented with the Rising Star Awards at the ceremony on December 8.

Awards were given out in six categories including Best Vocalist and Best Band at The Savings Bank in Glasgow to recognise stand-out musical accomplishments. Cara, who previously told the Glasgow Times she was ‘honoured’ to be nominated, has amassed millions of Spotify streams on her 2022 single Lovin’ and was featured on the platform’s popular NewCara said:"I'm incredibly grateful to have won this award and just to have been invited to be a part of the Scottish Jazz Awards.

“The awards also celebrate the increasing diversity of the Scottish jazz scene and the boundary-defying musicians who continue to produce ground-breaking material year on year. “Scotland’s exceptional jazz scene continues to thrive, and I would like to say a huge congratulations to everyone who was nominated, and to all of our winners.”
