A fraudster who used a man's bank card to steal more than £3,700 has avoided jail.

Stephen Glass, 54, used the cash to take finance on a car, buy items from Amazon and stay in a hotel.was committed between June 2020 and February 2021 at his home in Glasgow's Penliee and elsewhere in the city. Court papers state that Glass presented at automated checkouts a bank card in the name of Thomas Duff.

The charge says Glass pretended to Amazon, Hippomotors Group, Morrisons, Argos as well as ATM machines that he was the owner of the bank card.Clothing, accommodation in a hotel and a quantity of unknown items from Amazon were also obtained in the fraud.First offender Glass pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the single charge.He was also tagged for 180 days keeping him indoors between 8pm and 6am.
