Shettleston politician Thomas Kerr is the Conservative candidate to become the MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, the party has confirmed.
This comes after Margaret Ferrier, who previously held the position, was recalled, following a petition signed by 11,896 voters. In September 2020, the former SNP MP travelled by train at the height of the pandemic, having tested positive for Covid.said: “I’m honoured to have been selected to stand as the Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate in this by-election.have a chance to send the SNP a strong message that they should focus on their real priorities rather than continuing to prioritise independence.
