Glasgow City Council issued a total of 95,068 fines to the city’s motorists in 2021/22

The local authority had the fifth highest income from fines in the UK - nearly three times more than Edinburgh City Council.

Glasgow had an annual income of £3,429,407 generated after issuing a total of 95,068 fines to the city’s motorists in 2021/22. The council generated an average weekly income of £65,950.Bus lane enforcement uses a digital camera system that records vehicles illegally making use of the city's bus lanes with a £60 charge notice issued to the registered keeper of the vehicle.
