A 23-year-old bus driver has succumber to his life-threatening injuries after collision on Monday, August 14, with white Ford Transit van near Newton Means. Enquiries are still ongoing.
The single decker Stagecoach bus was travelling to Glasgow along the A77 near Newton Mearns at around 5.30pm on Monday, August 14, when the incident involving a Ford Transit van took place.
The 23-year-old bus driver was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries following the incident near to the A719 junction.Sadly he later died in hospital. The 42-year-old van driver is in a serious but stable condition. Both men had to be airlifted to hospital. Two bus passengers - a 68-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man - were also taken to hospital by ambulance and later discharged.Enquiries into the incident are still ongoing with officers urging those with information to come forward.
