Staff at a Glasgow bar have told how they are often forced to work through their breaks as they marked the first hospitality strike in Scotland for 20 years

.

The workers will then take action every weekend until Sunday August 6. Unite represents 95% of the workers employed at the venue, with 100% of members voting to support strike action. "Hospitality is the beating heart of Glasgow and I hope today's strike sends a clear message that we will not tolerate exploitation any longer. Owners should dip into their pockets to keep their staff satisfied or they will end up with a picket line outside their front door."

"Our bosses want the business to thrive but we can't provide the service and keep hygiene standards maintained because we just don't have the staff to do both. It's extremely stressful to keep up with the workload, we're working over our hours and often some of us are unable to take our breaks.
