Glamour and pink galore: Barbie fans don stunning outfits ahead of the highly-anticipated premiere
Lights, camera, and pink—lots of it! Barbie has gripped fans in Manchester ahead of its arrival in cinemas this week.
So we went to speak to fans in Manchester city centre about their glamorous looks for the Barbie film as part of our series Steal Your Style.Marnie Ahmed Zu, originally from Hong Kong, now living in Manchester, has worn her iconic Barbie branded heelys to mimic Margot Robbie on her infamous roller-skates in the premiere for the special occasion. Her entire clothing - which she pulled from previous use in her wardrobe - is also inspired by Barbie's cowgirl outfit.
She said to the Manchester Evening News: "I bought the dress online but can't remember where! I've worn it for Valentine's Day and when cosplaying other characters like Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time. I love when I get the opportunity to pull this fancy thing out of my wardrobe.
"The fishnets is also an industry secret. Celebrities often wear a normal pair of tights and then fishnets to give a subtle glaze over on the legs. I've loved dressing up for Barbie and seeing everyone in their own funky outfits, it's a breather from the typical everyday trends."Barbiecore is a celebration of all things bright, bold and unapologetically feminine.
