Leeds United were unable to break down their Yorkshire visitors on Saturday afternoon as Sheffield Wednesday earned a point at Elland Road.
Daniel Farke made two enforced changes to the side that beat Ipswich Town last weekend, with the injured Sam Byram being replaced by Jamie Shackleton, while Crysencio Summerville came in for the departed Luis Sinisterra. New signings Glen Kamara and Djed Spence were among the substitutes. After a fairly bright start for Leeds, the first-half turned into something of a frustrating affair with the hosts lacking any real sustained threat in the final third. Chances followed soon after the break, but again, the game fell somewhat flat as it petered out to a goalless draw.
Leeds fans were able to see Spence and then Kamara come off the bench as second-half substitutes, but neither were able to inspire their new team to a victory. On the plus side, Leeds were able to keep their first clean sheet of the season, but their front line did not gel against a Sheffield Wednesday side that had not picked up a point all season prior to their visit up the M1.
