'She has left a big hole in our lives'
A young Blackpool woman with a "heart of solid gold" tragically died of causes including sepsis in hospital in March this year.
Briony became unwell four days prior to her death at home, suffering from sickness and diarrhoea, and family members were taking care of her before her condition worsened and they called an ambulance just before 5pm on March 2. The court heard the call was upgraded to a category two call from a category three, but the ambulance arrived outside of the response times.
Similarly, there were no "gaps" in relation to the care she had been receiving which would have contributed to her death, with ambulance workers finding clean pads, a clean bed, and that three pads had been applied to her pressure sores.
