A 14-year-old girl has tragically died after falling ill at a summer sports camp at one of the UK’s leading private schools.in Derbyshire when she became unwell on Monday.The residential event was being held for children aged between 11 and 17 but was brought to an early end after the sudden tragedy.
Event organisers, Christians in Sport, based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, confirmed the young girl’s death in a statement issued on Wednesday. A spokesman said: ‘On Monday 14th August a young person at our residential camp, Sports Plus, fell ill and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where she sadly died later that same evening.
