The 73-year-old had been walking across Orchard Drive, at its junction with Fenwick Road, when he was hit by the bus. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
A busy street in Giffnock is said to be partially blocked as police carry out investigations into a fatal crash which happened on Fenwick Road last week. It comes after a pensioner died when he was hit by a bus while crossing the road on Friday, September 1.
The incident took place at around 5pm with a number of roads closed, as a result. Police and paramedics descended on the scene, and the 73-year-old man was pronounced dead. It is understood he had been walking across Orchard Drive, at its junction with Fenwick Road, before the fatal incident. The driver of the bus, a 24-year-old man, was uninjured.Six days later, officers have returned to the scene as part of their probe into what happened. Pictures sent to Glasgow Live show a number of police vehicles partially blocking Fenwick Road on Thursday, September 7.
An eyewitness said: "There's loads of police cars and vans everywhere. The road is blocked from traffic but people can walk on the street." Police Scotland confirmed officers are at the scene 'carrying out further investigation work in connection with last week’s fatal crash'.
