It’s here. The clash for MetLife Stadium supremacy begins Sunday at 1 p.m. ET when the “host” the crosstown rival for the first time since 2019. These teams play every preseason, but this is just their 15th regular-season meeting. The game has been highlighted on calendars since its announcement, and while neither team’s season has begun as hoped, it’s still sure to be a buzzy day in the Meadowlands.
Just like last year, the Jets lost their best offensive lineman to a season-ending injury in Denver. Rookie had emerged once Vera-Tucker went down … then he hurt his calf against the Eagles and might be out a while. Any depth the Jets thought they had before the season has since evaporated. But this is still a better group than what the Giants have right now.
