On Monday he proved his point. It was no coincidence that the 49ers’ two longest runs of the night – including’s 39-yard score in the third quarter – were to the left side with Williams leading the way. He took out a Cardinals defensive back on the sideline on that play and was excellent as both a run and pass blocker on the night. The 49ers also seemed to solve their season-long issue with outside runs. The Cardinals did a good job stringing those out in the first quarter.
