Gardai launch investigation after mum and baby boy found dead in Dublin house
GARDAI have launched an investigation after a woman and baby boy were found dead in a house today.
It is believed the seven-month-old had been smothered and the woman, in her 40s, is understood to have taken an overdose.Credit: Damien Storan Investigators are awaiting results the of post-mortems before deciding what course the probe should take but sources have told the Irish Sun that they aren’t looking for anyone else.“The post-mortems will tell a lot and will decide the course of the investigation but at this point gardai are not looking for anyone else.”READ MORE IN NEWSThe bodies remained at the scene tonight pending the arrival of forensics experts who will carry out examinations this morning.
Gardai said last night: “Shortly after 3pm today, gardai and emergency services attended at a house in the Beechfield area of Dublin 15.“They were both pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. Their bodies remain at scene which is preserved for forensic and technical examination.
