I’m not one for writing letters usually, and I do wonder why I’m responding here. But the discourse around Baldur’s Gate 3 has got me thinking about elements of modern pop culture discourse that I find slightly maddening., who made his case for why Baldur’s Gate 3 was such a bad game, despite apparently never having played it. He mentioned Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom in his comment, as if that and Baldur’s Gate 3 could not both be good at the same time.
I do not really understand this sort of, ‘All or nothing, my team’s better than yours’ mentality that seems to run through everything these days. It’s perfectly possible for Baldur’s Gate 3 to be a good game and not your cup of tea. It’s also possible for it to have flaws and bugs and still be a fun game to play.
