So many jobs at risk
Wilko stores across Nottinghamshire face closure as the firm confirmed it was entering administration, putting 12,000 jobs at risk. The high street giant, which is headquartered in Worksop, officially entered administration on Thursday, August 10, putting the future of more than 400 stores in jeopardy.
The administration announcement was met with concern among political and business leaders in Nottinghamshire. Nottingham East MP Nadia Whittome said: "Wilko’s collapse will be extremely worrying news for its staff in Nottinghamshire and across the country, whose livelihoods are now at risk.
