There's just one day to go until the River of Light gallery makes a welcome return to the city and the waterfront is illuminated by beautiful artwork.
The exhibition is designed to be family friendly and inclusive. It is advised that small children are accompanied by an adult at all times. Dogs are allowed to walk the trail. "As always, the calibre of the artists that we are working with this year is incredibly impressive. We are now attracting critically acclaimed creatives who have never worked in light art form, but are wowed by what we produce as part of this festival and want to be a part of that.
Dancing Ribbons - This artwork is a first for British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori, who has been inspired by rhythmic gymnastics. His installation aims to capture the energy between the gymnast and the prop ribbon and includes a specially-created soundscape called Rhapsody of Light, created by composer and producer Peter Adjaye.
BEAM - This artwork is a brand new commission by the acclaimed Lucid Creates . It will see a beam of light transport visitors to a hot summer's day, accompanied by the sounds of the British countryside. However, after several minutes, the feeling of peace and warmth will change to unease and suspense.
