The actor, who struggled with addiction throughout his time on Friends, admitted that he found writing his memoir and reading it back hard but that he'd written it to help others. Matthew explained that addiction is a disease that people aren't aware that they have and others often try to oversimplify what they are going through in a bid to get them to stop.
"I was never wasted while I was working. But I did work extremely hungover. At one point I was shaking so much I'd have to put my hand on the table so I didn't shake, it got that bad."
