Some signs can be picked up which could indicate the condition's onset
A doctor has explained there are some early signs of dementia that can be noticeable before memory loss.
It is estimated that 850,000 people in the UK are living with the condition, which often causes memory loss and language difficulty and can have a devastating impact on a person's life. There is currently no cure for the condition but diagnosing dementia early enables people to live as well as possible thanks to medicines, treatment and care given by professionals.
Memory problems, particularly remembering recent events, are usually the earliest sign to alert to dementia. However, a doctor has shared that motor issues and physical signs could strike first - as The Express reports.Dr Johannes Uys, a GP at Broadgate General Practice, said: “In some cases, physical symptoms can also appear before memory loss in dementia.
Dr Uys also explained people experience dementia differently, which makes the progression of symptoms vary.
