It comes after Giovanni's dance partner Amanda Abbington pulled out the competition this week
Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Joanne Clifton has made a bold claim over Giovanni Pernice's future on the show. She says she can see him ending up on the judging panel, following in the footsteps of Anton Du Beke, who used to compete as a pro on the show.
Joanne, who won the BBC competition in 2016 with television presenter Ore Oduba, made the prediction when speaking on behalf of Betway Slots. "Many of us would like to have a go at judging. I completely get why Anton wanted to. I can see Giovanni Pernice going for it in a couple of years’ time," he said, as reported by BirminghamLive.
The current judges are Shirley Ballas, who is the head judge on the show, as well as Motsi Mabuse, whose sister Oti was a two-time Glitterball Trophy winner in 2019 and 2020. The other judges are former pro Anton, and longest-serving judge Craig Revel Horwood.Joanne said: "He could definitely be a type of Bruno Tonioli on the panel as him and Anton have their show together. He has a great personality.
Former Strictly pro Joanne also singled out BBC Bad Education star Layton Williams and BBC Casualty and EastEnders actor Nigel Harman as two of the current crop on the show to keep an eye on as the series progresses each weekend, with live shows airing each Saturday and pre-recorded results shows the following evening.
