MacDonald, of the city's Townhead, was jailed for 16 years over his role in an attempted £6million bank robbery in 1991.
MacDonald, 61, was on trial accused of attacking the woman, 36, at her home in Glasgow's Dalmarnock on June 25.

The hearing was told that the pair attended The Sir John Moore pub in the city centre together with a three-year-old on May 30 - breaching MacDonald's bail terms.
