Sgt Saville was hit by a train while trying to save a man on the railway lines

A minute's applause before Nottingham Forest's Carabao Cup match with Burnley at the City Ground on Wednesday evening will honour the life of Sergeant Graham Saville, the uncle of Reds captain Joe Worrall.

Flags across Nottinghamshire's police stations have been flown at half-mast on what Chief Constable Kate Meynell said was a "day of mourning for the entire police family". A family spokesman told the MailOnline that Forest centre-back Joe Worrall had been left "devastated" by the loss of Sgt Saville, who has been confirmed as his uncle.Officials at Forest confirmed the minute's applause was planned ahead of Wednesday's clash with the Clarets, which kicks off at 7.

"His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. I would also like to pay tribute to the officers who attended the scene, some of whom provided immediate medical assistance while the ambulance was on its way.
