"Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating an incident on Booth Road in Altrincham.
"At around 5am this morning an 18-year-old man was found in the road with serious injuries and despite best efforts of emergency services he tragically passed away at the scene. "A cordon has been implemented and officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death and are following up multiple lines of inquiry.
