Lochmaben player Ben Loudon suffered the horrific injury during a South of Scotland League match with Lochar Thistle on Saturday afternoon
A Dumfries footballer was told he’d have to wait “four to six hours” for an ambulance after he broke his leg in a game at the weekend. Lochmaben FC’s Ben Loudon, 24, suffered the gruesome injury in the first half of Saturday’s South of Scotland League match with Lochar Thistle which resulted in the game at Whitehills Park being abandoned.
“It was a bit of a shambles. I wasn’t happy. It put a lot of stress on Niamh and her family having to rush through from Dumfries to Lochmaben – it wasn’t fair putting that on them.” “It wasn’t a nice feeling sitting there being told I’d have to wait that long. I’m getting there now and I just want to thank the club and everyone that helped on the day. I appreciate what they’ve done.
“I’d have been quite happy to take the risk and put him in the back of my car but you are taking a risk if you hurt him.”
