suggest that the CCS project could face an even longer delay of up to seven years.that the delivery times on the carbon capture project have been amended following changes in the policy environment, and the application to allow delays to beginning construction were a “technical change”, designed to allow flexibility.
Details of the delay follow a turbulent period for Drax, having last week been accused of gaming the system by turning off generators during periods of high prices in the energy market, when the company would have been required to repay Government subsidies to consumers. “Our plans could create thousands of new jobs in the Humber region while supporting the country’s long-term energy security.”
