A 14-year-old boy allegedly stabbed to death in Tyne and Wear has been named as Tomasz Oleszak.after suffering serious injuries ‘consistent with having been caused by a bladed article’.
Another boy aged 14 has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 13-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.Shortly after 8pm on Monday, police were called to reports of a teenager serious hurt in the Aycliffe Crescent area of the Springwell Estate in Gateshead.Chief Superintendent Helena Barron said: ‘Tomasz had his whole life ahead of him and this tragic incident has cut that life short and left his family utterly devastated.
‘Their grief is unimaginable and they are in the thoughts of everyone at Northumbria Police as we continue to support them in every way we can.#GatesheadTwo teenagers have been arrested as part of our investigation & remain in custody. Our officers remain in the area to carry out enquiries & offer reassurance.
