Disney+ has given viewers a sneak peek at the upcoming documentary series about the Wagatha Christie legal battle.
Coleen Rooney shook the internet in 2019 when she accused fellow footballer's wife Rebekah Vardy of leaking stories from her social media. Coleen earned the nickname "Wagatha Christie" after she shared details of the sting operation she conducted to find out who she believed was selling stories about her to The S*n.
After blocking "everybody but one person" from viewing her Instagram stories, Mrs Rooney concluded the source could only be the account of Mrs Vardy. Rebecca, the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, attempted to sue Coleen for defamation but was unsuccessful after a High Court judge ruled last year that the accusations were "substantially true".Disney+ has today released three first-look images from the long awaited documentary “Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story”.
The three-part series looks at the circumstances that led to Coleen's infamous Instagram post that ‘broke the Internet’ all the way to her successfully defending herself in one of the UK’s highest-profile High Court defamation cases of recent years. As well as the case itself, the documentary will explore how Coleen's life has played out in public for the last 20 years.
An air date for the series is yet to be announced. Disney+ is currently available for £7.99 per month.
