Designers say the vehicle has helicopter-like hovering abilities which means it will be able to take off from driveways and will have minimal noise
A company has unveiled a 160mph 'Aladdin's magic carpet' flying car. California-based Applied eVTOL Concepts say the Tesla-sized Epiphany Transporter would use NASA-proven thrusters.
"Key to its impressive utility and vast potential commercial appeal is its predicted 300+ mile-range, exciting 160-mph top speed, and exceptionally quiet, neighbour-friendly sound . The Epiphany Transporter can accommodate two people, their luggage, plus golf clubs. Intended to be simple and safe to operate, and about the size of a Tesla Model 'S' automobile, it fits into a standard one-car garage with its thrusters folded up.
Michael Moshier, Founder, CEO and Lead Designer of Applied eVTOL Concepts, says: "We have every reason to believe in the ability of our proprietary, field-proven ducted thrusters, and leading-edge vehicle design, to perform in flight as expected." The team, which includes Rob Bulaga, Chief Engineer and Senior Aerodynamicist, say they are now focused on personal eVTOL aircraft for UAM using advanced-technology electric motors and batteries.
